Former Golden Rams standout, Lavoisier Fisher, signed a contract with the Grand Junction Jackalopes in the Pioneer Baseball League that is based out of Grand Junction, CO.
Fisher stated, “Signing with the Grand Junction Jackalopes is a blessing from God. Being able to go to Colorado is a representation of how far I have come, and how hard I have worked. I still have a long way to go, but I am looking forward to the journey. This is the beginning of a new chapter in my life and I’m thankful for the all people that have helped me along the way.”
Lavoisier was named to the 2023 SIAC All-Conference First Team as an outfielder. Lavoisier finished the season with a batting average of .321. Fisher hit 14 home runs and had 64 RBIs for the Golden Rams. Fisher also had 15 stolen bases.
“We are extremely proud of Lavoisier for signing a professional contract. He was a great player for us during our outstanding 2023 season where we finished 38-11, had nine players receive all conference awards, and won the Regular Season SIAC title by 5 games with an impressive 30-2 conference record. This team also finished number one in on base percentage in Division II baseball, 3rd in scoring, 4th in Hit by Pitches, 7th in walks, and 7th in sacrifice flies. Our pitching staff finished in the top 10 in five different categories as well. We wish Lavoisier the best of luck and know he will be extremely successful in his future endeavors. This is another example of what we are building here at ASU as Fisher will join Malik Barrington in professional baseball. We continue to develop not only great players, but also great people who go on and are successful in life after baseball. We could not be any prouder of Lavoisier and him achieving his goal of being a professional baseball player,” said Scot Hemmings.
